econceptum
(en:[ˈİ:kɔn'sɛp'təm]; (IPA)),
from "eco" (Greek: oikos, "House" or "Household") and "conceptum" (Latin, nom. sl., n.: concipere, "capture"),
describes the first version of a design idea or a visual communication strategy, taking sustainable (environmentally, economically and socially responsible) aspects into account. This term is used analogously for a summary of key points as part of a creative project, which are complemented and enhanced through responsible and conscious action. Thus, the concept of functional benefits has a consciously controlled positive side effect, which also can be inherited to other strategies and projects; this fact is given, for example, if the concept is part of a complex project architecture: all positive properties of an "econceptum" affect the overall project iteratively.

I admit, it has rarely anything to with chocolate with nuts. But to illustrate a simple example:
Imagine a chocolate manufacturer who seriously advertises his chocolate with the slogan "sustainable".
The cocoa comes from socially fair cultivation, the milk is bought from local farmers and the power to run the chocolate factory comes from completely renewable energy sources.
Now the chocolate manufacturer wants to place an advertisement in a cooking magazine so that chocolate lovers who only eat sustainable chocolate on principle might buy his chocolate. So he hires a graphics designer.
Now, the chocolate manufacturer has two options:

a) to hand over the responsibility for compliance with sustainable standards, with the drawback to loose his most important argument in his sustainable development marketing.

b) He hires a sustainable graphic designer. His expectations regarding the sustainable guidelines are met by external service providers, to support his most important sales argument further.
This comparison shows quickly that sustainability does require a cross-linking and overlapping of own and foreign responsibilities. As well as any product or service, where a tracery of expectations and needs have to be met.
"Sustainability" in conjunction with "econceptum" is defined as a holistic system of three main interdependent factors:
When these three key factors for the manufacturing industry or the commercial market are relatively feasible, means, it applies also to the service sector, even in the creative ones. Only the limits of internal and external responsibilities are considerably more diffuse and require shorter intervals to scrutinize the sustainability strategy.
